SOAP SNOWMEN
Materials Needed:
Bars of Ivory soap (one per snowman)
Box grater
Water
Pipe cleaners (black, brown, orange)
Decorative accents – small feathers, strips of fabric, small beads
Procedure
1. Use box grater to grate soap into shavings.
2. Add about a tablespoon of water to the shavings and using your hands, incorporate the water into the soap until it is the consistency of thick mashed potatoes or Play Do. Gradually add water as needed to achieve this “sculptable” consistency.
3. Sculpt “snow” into three balls to build the snowman. Keep one ball flat on the bottom so the snowman can stand on its own.
4. Decorate the snowman with pipe cleaners (arms, nose), beads (buttons) and fabric (scarf).
